Adam Granieri

Philadelphia, PA

Hey there! I'm a Computer Engineering enthusiast and a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. My journey thus far has taken me through exciting roles, from crafting software solutions at Roadrunner Recycling, where I worked on smarter waste management, to working on supporting merchant systems during my internship at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I've even had the chance to explore the tech scene internationally at Infosys Limited in Bangalore, India, where I delved into WebVR. But it hasn't all code and hardware – I've led wonderful teams as a Resident Assistant, organizing events and fostering tight-knit communities. Below is the cataloged journey through my portfolio, where I share the work and experiences that define my love for tech and problem-solving!

Experience

Software Engineer

RoadRunner Recycling

I worked on a number of projects around invoicing, pricing and data visualization. These were to support various teams across the organization both customer-facing and internal-only. Additionally I co-led an engineering process development on a new product focused team stucture as the department multiplied in size. When I was a level 1, I got to build some useful tools into our existing backend infrasture like an foreign table "order by" functionality for our graph to do more complex queries from our frontend. Additionally I contributed a number of lifecycle changes to de-normalize a number of different associations for performance improvements.

Integrated order management functionality with existing legacy backend systems. Wrote custom API endpoints with .NET and Entity Framework in C#. Participated in daily SCRUM stand-ups. Increased user productivity by eliminating multi-step process in legacy application.

Interests & About Me

At Pitt, I was a part of a few organizations. I was the founding Treasurer for the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) at Pitt. I was the Lead Resident Assistant this year for first-year students in Litchfield Tower A. I took on this role after having an amazing experience as a regular RA for the First Year Engineering Living Learning Community (LLC) the year prior and wanted to challenge myself in 'soft' skill areas.

Outside of school I am a huge vegetarian foodie, exploring the restaurant scene wherever I may be. It was one one of my favorite things to do when I was living in Pittsburgh. I also love film, books, video games, or anything that tells a great story. My family has a self-proclaimed weakness for anything epic and I'm no different. Computer Hardware was what launched my initial interest in Computer Engineering, so you can surely find me reading some article on any particular consumer electronic advancement at any point in the day.
